I am currently looking for old denim & solid white, black, or solid color garments & textiles.
Check your tags! What’s the fabric content?
Acceptable fabric content: Cotton, hemp, bamboo, & linen are common plant based fabrics that I can dye. Protein fibers such as wool or silk are also welcome. Modal, Lyocel, Rayon, & Vicose can also be dyed although they are semi-synthetic.
I DO NOT accept items that are more than 30% of these synthetic fibers: polyester, nylon, acrylic, microfiber, spandex.
Amount credited will be determined once donation has been received & each piece is inspected. All fabric in good/fair/bad condition is welcome. Any fabric that is donated will be used in some way, but certain garments have more value than others in my eyes. Each piece is investigated to determine the worth of the garment in accordance to what I will use them for:
Is it dyeable and mendable? If yes, then it will be dyed and/or up-cycled & sold. A standard t-shirt is a $2.50 credit, price fluctuations from that price point dependent on garment type/size.
If not dyeable or mendable, it will be used in scrap projects such as rag rugs, tufted rugs, patches, weavings, stuffing, etc. $3 credit per pound
50% of shipping cost will be added to your gift card credit if a receipt is provided showing me the cost of the box to ship. Please consider the other 50% a donation to the cause of less waste in the fashion industry, & an encouraging support in my mission to reduce waste & reuse textiles.
HOW TO DONATE:
Gather all of the garments & textiles you want to donate & wash them in a neutral detergent (if possible).
Write down what you have & if you know of the fiber content (check tags), I will accept a summary or a full blown list.
Find a box it will all fit in, I recommend USPS flat rate boxes.(pro-tip: If you roll the fabric it will condense & you will be able to fit more!)
